VerArt near Kenmare

Mask at VerArt

Calling the proprietor of VerArt

This stop was a lot of fun especially since it was unexpected. We followed signs to the VerArt Sculpture Garden from the Bonne Heritage Center. After passing through three or four gates that we had to open and close we arrived at the final gate. This box with a horn was at the gate and you used the horn to call the proprietor to let you in.

The art, all made by Vera, is quirky and delightful and you receive a conducted tour of the art and grounds from the artist.

Colorful Mosaic

Mosaics, wood and clay carvings and even a chess set are some of the offerings at the site. We thoroughly enjoyed our hostess as she told us about herself and her art.

We were accompanied by the owner's three dogs on the tour. Here they are taking a well deserved rest. This is not on any tour bus itinerary but is a great way to spend an afternoon enjoying an off beat excursion.
