Strawberry and Oats Greek Yogurt Smoothie



Welcome! Here is a great way to start your day, have lunch, a quick and healthy snack or even a very light super. The strawberry Smoothie is healthy and refreshing. Best of all it's really easy to make. The ingredients are listed below but you can play a bit with them. I have used mixed berries instead of strawberries. You could also use blueberries or blackberries. The recipe is very forgiving. I like to use herbs in my smoothies for a little extra flavor and....they're good for you!


Ingredients

1 cup whole strawberries frozen or fresh

1 medium ripe banana

3/4 Cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt

1/4 Cup oatmeal

1 - 2 teaspoons honey or to taste

Water, sparkling water or almond milk as needed

Ice - optional

1 - 2 Tablespoons fresh herbs (lemon balm, lemon verbena, mint)




Assemble your ingredients, de-stem your strawberries and chop your herbs.





Place all of the ingredients but the ice in a blender. (strawberries, bananas, oats, honey and herbs, yogurt and water)





Blend until smooth. If mixture is too thick, add water or almond milk. If mixture is too thin, add ice.






Pour into a glass and garnish with herbs. Try this one today, you'll love it. Enjoy.

Can be frozen for up to three months.
