Santa Claus is Coming to Town Thrifted Christmas Tablescape
Santa Claus is Coming to Town in this fun Christmas lunch setting. Light-hearted plates and an exhortation to "Believe" in the wonders of the Christmas season highlight this table setting. It doesn't all have to be serious or elegant. It can just be FUN.
The table starts with a great thrifted tablecloth for a round table ($3.25). The motif on the tablecloth looks like little flower stars ..... good for making wishes. On top of the table cloth are green wicker place mats (Goodwill).
The dinner plate is Mikasa's Christmas Wishes. I have used these as my every day dishes starting December 1st since my children were little. They always comment on the Christmas dishes being swapped out for the holidays. It's a tangible signal that the holiday season has begun.
A Christmas reindeer adorns the napkin that separates the dinner plate from the dessert/salad plate (thrifted). The Salad plates are Better Homes and Garden and depict four scenes in a typical town. They show places Santa is more than likely to visit on Christmas Eve.
A wooden "Believe" ornament rests at each place setting encouraging everyone to believe in the good tidings of the season (Big Lots end of season sale). The flatware is nestled in mittens and stockings adding to the joy of the season (thrifted). Who can resist a knitted red mitten or a red stocking?
The centerpiece is a Christopher Radko Cookie jar depicting Santa delivering toys in his beautiful, sparkly engine (Miracle Hill Thrift Store). The cookie jar rests on some sparkly Christmas picks with a bright red and green bow that picks up the colors in the plates and glasses. Speaking of the glasses....Santa is carrying his sack and getting ready for his big flight on Christmas Eve (thrifted).
Such a happy, festive tablescape for a friendly Santa lunch. Dig into the child- like wonder of the Christmas season with a little peace and joy in your next table setting.
