My Daughter’s Birthday is in a few days and she will be able to celebrate with us on the actual day. I’m very excited to plan a special dinner that we can all share. With a special dinner comes a special table setting. Something feminine, elegant and beautiful….just like our daughter.
So, welcome to the Blog today.
A beautiful Battenburg Lace tablecloth is the base for this tablescape. I used the matching napkins with simple wide silver napkin rings with a rope edging. The delicate lace creates an intricate pattern throughout the snowy white linen.
Pink and green porcelain chargers with scalloped edges by Baroque in the Ambience pattern begin the plate stack. Next is the dinner plate…..Billingsley Rose by Spode. I used the bread and butter plate in the same pattern as the third plate in the stack. The Spode plates are a vintage pattern that I found recently. They are so pretty and old-fashioned bringing back memories of summer porches and Sunday dinners. Separating the dinner and bread and butter plates is a salad/dessert plate with a scalloped edge trimmed in gold. Roses are scattered over the plate and the rim is slightly tinged in a soft green. You can see how the pink and green chargers highlight different aspects of the plates. The lace tablecloth is a great background for the plate stack.
Multi-colored flowers in a tall vase centered in the table add color and texture.
Lenox’s, Opal Innocence cut glass crystal fits right in. The water and champagne glasses are beautifully etched with vines. These glasses echo the lace in the tablecloth tying them together. https://www.thriftingwonderland.com/post/crystal-me-happy

Pink candles in low crystal candleholders were added to either side of the crystal vase. Using such long stems in crystal doesn’t block diners from conversing with one another. The vase sits on another Spode plate.
The “Birthday Girl” has a special flower at her place setting. Blue organza ribbon adds contrast to all the pink and sets off the Pink Peony making it even more special. The silver plate flatware is quite simple. The curved handles are an elegant form grounding the place setting.
The knives and spoons curve in one direction and the forks in the opposite direction creating a circle around the plate stack.
